The area under cultivation of Chilean cherries has undergone a large-scale expansion, with the peak cultivation period occurring between 2019 and 2021. Therefore, the industry expects that production will continue to increase significantly in the three quarters of 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26.

As we all know, there are many varieties of Chilean cherries, including Santina (Santina), Royal Dawn (Royal Dawn), Bing (Bing), Lapins (Lapins), Skeena (Skeena) and so on, with different colors, tastes and flavors, and different times of listing. This time, in terms of varieties, the output of Santina (Santina) has increased most significantly compared with the previous season, reaching 121 per cent, with 38.3 million boxes. Rabin (Lapins) will increase 29% to 45.7 million boxes; Regina (Regina) will increase 53% to 24.3 million boxes; The remaining varieties will make up the remaining 23.2 million boxes.

Recently, the first batch of Chilean cherries from San Francisco Garces Fruit (San Francisco) arrived in Shanghai by air. The company's orchards in the San Felipe and Ovalle regions of northern Chile have already begun harvesting, with the first batch of cherries exported to a number of northern hemisphere markets, including China. Brooks, Glen Red and Royal Dawn are the main varieties harvested in the first few weeks of the season.

Chile is located in the southwest of South America, the western foothills of the Andes, with high mountains in the east, vast oceans in the west, and arid deserts in the north. It has a typical Mediterranean climate, hot and dry summers, sunny weather, and icebergs and snow water as irrigation water. Coupled with the fertile volcanic soil rich in minerals, it provides a unique environment for the cultivation of Chilean cherries. During the period of concentrated listing of Chilean cherries, it was the Spring Festival in China and was popular with Chinese consumers.
