The summer breeze sweeps across the Bay of Bengal and over eastern Thailand, where a bountiful harvest scene unfolds in the mangosteen orchards of Chanthaburi. As a globally recognized core production area for mangosteens, the trees are laden with round, purple-skinned fruits, setting the stage for an international fruit adventure.

Mangosteens, originally known as Garcinia mangostana, are native to Southeast Asia. From planting to fruiting, it takes at least 10 years. They typically grow in dense forests in hilly areas or mountain valleys and have very strict environmental requirements. Mangosteens thrive in sandy loam soil rich in organic matter with a pH of 5-6.5, at temperatures of 25-35℃, annual rainfall of 2000-2500mm, and relative humidity of 80%. Growth is significantly inhibited when temperatures fall below 20℃; prolonged temperatures below 5℃ or above 40℃ will kill the plants. In such harsh growing conditions, the delicate, sweet and juicy "Queen of Fruits"—the mangosteen—is born!

Beneath the purple skin lies segment after segment of tightly clustered, translucent white, juicy, and tender flesh. With a gentle suck, the flesh slides into your mouth, the soft pulp carrying sweet juice, instantly relieving the summer heat. It is well known that durian is rich in nutrients and is known as the "King of Fruits," but it is also considered a hot fruit and can cause heatiness after consumption. Mangosteens, however, are rich in folic acid, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin B, and vitamin C, and have a cooling and heat-clearing effect, making them the perfect pairing with durian as the "husband and wife fruits."

With over 30 years of experience in the fruit industry, the Chen Shi Sunshine team has a long-standing relationship with Thailand, bringing high-quality Thai fruits such as durian, mangosteen, and longan to the tables of domestic consumers. Having been based in Thailand for many years, Chen Shi Sunshine collaborates with many high-quality local orchards, strictly controlling product quality from the source. We select old mangosteen trees in Thailand, strictly control the maturity level, and have established a complete sorting line. From manual harvesting to product grading and selection, to packaging and boxing, every step is carefully monitored to ensure the freshness and sweetness of the fruit.

Currently, it is the peak season for mangosteens. At Chen Shi Sunshine's stalls, numerous displays are often open, showcasing a wide range of sizes and grades from 3A to 6A, attracting many partners to negotiate and place orders. This once-a-year limited-edition delicacy is well worth having.
